Founded in 2025, (with over 30 years of experience) Shaner Sharks Martial Arts Academy LLC provides high-quality martial arts training to students of all ages and skill levels. With a unique blend of Taekwondo and Tang Soo Do (Korean Taekwondo and Karate), students will gain the discipline and self confidence to achieve any task. Our experienced instructors are dedicated to helping each student reach their full potential and achieve their goals.
About the Sensei
Terry L. Shaner Jr (at the age of 16) received the rank of First-Degree Black Belt from the American Taekwondo Association in Slippery Rock, PA in 1995. He has trained with various techniques and different styles over the years. With over 30 years of experience in Martial Arts,
he will be with students every step of the way to help them reach their individual goals (and even reach some new goals they have never before thought possible). “In a world full of fish, be a shark.”
Our Services
Shaner Sharks Martial Arts Academy LLC is a value-priced martial arts school serving its customers in our community by providing several programs for a variety of purposes, ranging from martial arts, disarming techniques, weapon training, to esteem and life skills building, self-discipline, and more. Upon a dojo for students, Shaner Sharks Martial Arts Academy LLC also offers an enhanced Situational Awareness Training offered to companies and organizations throughout Ohio at their place of business operations, and we also offer a 3 Hour Fast Track Self Defense Course at places of business as well. Shaner Sharks Martial Art Academy LLC plans to enhance its programs and class availability schedule as it expands, developing new programs and more available days a week to ensure the students have as much access to the various aspects to our teaching curriculum as possible. Our program will have several age groups for our clients to accommodate the learning process for our students as much as possible. Success, safety, and personal growth is our number one priority. Shaner Sharks Martial Arts Academy LLC will also offer self-defense techniques to local Law Enforcement in the area. Shaner Sharks Martial Art Academy LLC realizes that each student possesses different physical abilities. Size and strength vary with each individual. Once a student has acquired a solid foundation in the basics, Terry L. Shaner Jr’s outlined program will enhance the student’s physical capabilities and maximize his/her self-defense skills. Situational Awareness Services will also be offered to companies at their locations for a thorough 90-minute training session with some disarming demonstrations for all selected employees in attendance. Services will demonstrate the importance of situational awareness, (with an in depth power point and lecture) as well as a hands on demonstration. It will teach employees not only how to deal with a threatening situation, but also how to detect and possibly avoid it at home, in a public area, or at the workplace.
